Maher Zain, a Swedish R&B singer who has gained a huge following among Muslims in Indonesia, will release his second album this month, which also includes two songs written in bahasa Indonesia.
The new album, titled “Forgive Me”, will be comprised of 14 songs, including the lead single “Number One For Me”, Antara news agency reported.
Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia managing director Toto Widjojo said Maher’s first album, “Thank You Allah”, became one the label’s most successful international albums last year with 20 platinum awards.
Maher, a singer, songwriter and music producer of Lebanese origin, would also star in a TV serial titled “Insha Allah – Find My Way”, which will be aired during the Islamic fasting month of Ramadan, Toto added. (hwa)
